IPOH: The wait continues for the curious many hoping to catch a glimpse of scenes from the movie Lust, Caution by Oscar-winning director Ang Lee on Jalan Chung On Siew here.
The production crew had a tough time keeping onlookers from encroaching on to the barricaded set.
Reporters have been at the set, camping at a nearby building, over the last two days since crew members set up the props.
A tram, complete with makeshift rails, was placed in front of a row of dilapidated pre-war buildings along the road.
Several of the cast were seen rehearsing their scenes with the Taiwanese director. In between, Lee was spotted in discussion with his actors in the tram.
Among the stars seen were Taiwanese heartthrob Wang Lee- Hom and mainland newcomer Tang Wei.
In one of the rehearsed scenes, the actors approached a moving tram before boarding and clambering on to the upper deck.
At one juncture, Lee went up, followed by an earnest discussion among them.
Several parts of the city have been chosen for the movie, including Jalan Bandar Timah, Jalan Panglima, Jalan Tun Sambanthan and Jalan Pasar.
The production is due to move on to Penang today, with shooting expected to resume at Gat Lebuh Cina where workers have been busy putting up the final touches.
Lust, Caution is based on a romantic spy thriller by famed Chinese writer Eileen Chang.
